The summer is nearing an end but our air conditioning units are still working hard. When was the last time you have had your air conditioning unit inspected? Your central air conditioning units should be inspected, cleaned and tuned by a licensed HVAC professional at least once a year. Read a few of our tips below to continue to have your AC running smoothly and as efficient as possible.

**Keep Your AC in the Shade**

Air conditioning units located in a proper shaded area can run more efficiently. Shading will help lessen an air conditioning unit’s workload and have an easier time cooling your home.

**Use Window Coverings**

During a hot sunny day, close your window blinds and curtains to help prevent direct sunlight from shining into and heating your home. This will help lower energy costs related to you air conditioning unit.

**Weatherize Your Home **

Weatherizing your home keeps the cold air in and the warm air out. Some basic steps you can take to properly weatherize your home can prevent air loss. Sealing air leaks with caulking and weather-stripping is an easy home do it yourself project. Adding insulation around your air ducts will help keep your energy costs lower as well.
